Tim Paine ruled out of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s upcoming tour of South Africa – Cricket News Update
After speculations over his injury recovery, Australia’s wicket-keeper batsman, Tim Paine, has been excluded from the national squad, which is scheduled to tour South Africa, in October this year.
With Paine out of the squad, it has been learnt that the player’s spot will presumably be taken over by 23-year-old Tasmanian player, Mathew Wade, who, if included, will get a potent chance to mark his International cricket debut for Australia.
However, based on speculations, Wade may still have a higher possibility to be picked for Australia, since Paine’s exclusion would mean that the Aussies would be without a wicket-keeper for the Twenty20 (T20) fixtures against the South Africans, since Brad
Haddin recently announced his retirement from the format.
With Wade’s keeping experience in the Aussie domestic circle, the wicket-keeper batsman might fit well for the role.
As for Paine, the player’s exclusion comes after Australia’s Physiotherapist, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alex-Kountouris-c43123, revealed that the 26-year-old is still showing slow signs of recovery from his wound, and is experiencing discomfort in his finger, which the player injured during
a training session last month.
“http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TD-Paine-c2652 injured his right index finger batting at training with his Tasmanian state team four weeks ago. He sustained a fracture in a similar part of the same finger late last year and required surgery. Tim has been resting the injury in recent weeks
but is still experiencing considerable pain,” said Paine.
“His surgeon has advised that the fracture is healing slower than expected and may not heal without surgical intervention. As such, Tim will be undergoing surgery later this week” the Physio added.
Paine will now be joining his team-mate, John Hosting, who too is scheduled to undergo surgery for his right shoulder and has also been excluded from the upcoming tour.
Australia is scheduled to kick off its tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 with a 2-match T20 series, set to be played on October 13 and 16, followed by 3 One Day International (ODI) matches, spanning between October 19 and 28, and then the eventual Test leg of the tour,
including 2 fixtures, that will be played on November 9 and 17.
