Tim Southee rooting for New Zealand victory in the second Test – Cricket News Update
New Zealand pacer, Tim Southee, believes his side has a serious chance of winning the second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.
"Obviously, with the new ball, it's nice to bowl and swing it, and we were lucky to pick up a few wickets there. India came back well after lunch as the ball got a bit older. The wicket is a pretty good wicket. So I guess now it's an important time for us with the second new ball to see if we can pick up the rest of the wickets," Southee reckoned.
“If we put some runs on the board and pick up some wickets tomorrow without too much damage then we're right in it,” he added.
New Zealand after bolstering an enormous tally of 365 in their first innings, failed to carry the momentum, unable to restrict India from posting 283 for five at stumps, on the second day of play.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737 standing unbeaten on a knock of 93, India managed to avert a disaster after they lost a couple of quick wickets earlier in the innings.
Kohli was backed by Suresh Raina, who jabbed a 55-run knock, and later skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 came along to belt an impressive innings of 46.

The bowler is now hoping his side will rattle the Indians on the third day, preventing the game from ending in a possible draw.
Meanwhile, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754’s bowling onslaught, admitted that the Kiwi pacers troubled the batsmen, making it quite difficult to score off them.
“We had to play positively because the Kiwi seamers were bowling well,” said Raina.
With India leading the two-Test series by 1-0, the second Test is New Zealand’s final opportunity to make amends before taking on the hosts in the two-match T20I series, scheduled to begin from September 08.
