Tim Wallach gets interview call from Boston Red Sox – MLB Update

Bobby Valentine was fired by the Boston Red Sox management earlier this month and they now they have started their search for a new manager with Los Angeles Dodgers’ third base coach Tim Wallach.
According to a leading sports website, Wallach is expected to be interviewed for Manager’s position on Friday. The source further revealed that the Red Sox are also interested in Toronto’s Manager John Farrell.
Farrell could join the Red Sox if the Toronto Blue Jays decide to release him from his duties at the end of the post-season. He was also the pitching coach for the Red Sox from 2006-2010. The Blue Jays’ skipper can be a good coach as he knows the ream very
well. Additionally, he is known for his ability to adjust the attitudes of the players quicker than anyone else.
Other potential candidates for the open vacancy include Blue Jays first base coach Torey Lovullo and former San Diego Padres catcher Brad Ausmus.
Red Sox had a forgettable season as they finished last on the American League East Division standings table. Valentine was fired as soon as the season came to an end. It seems the Red Sox are desperate for leadership and are grasping at straws at this point.
Wallach, who is former All Star third baseman, is an experienced professional. His resume is very impressive. He managed the Dodger’s Triple A team for two consecutive years while working for Los Angeles as a hitting coach.
Not only is he experienced, he also has the ability to keep the players focused on the task at hand. Red Sox’s hitters struggled to score runs throughout the regular season. The pitchers also had a forgettable time on the mound.
If offered the job, Wallach will have to make some brave moves to put things on the right track. Offseason trades will definitely be a part of those moves. It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox can turn things around in the next season to cheer up
their disappointed fans. Also, it is a good time to bring about a different work-ethic within the organisation.
