The goalkeeper insisted that his new side is aiming high for the new season and is confident of a top-four finish.
Wiese joined Hoffenheim earlier this summer for an undisclosed fee from Werder Bremen and signed a four-year contract. The player spent seven years at the Weserstadion and won a German Cup and a DFB-Supercup with the team.

Wiese is confident that his new side can achieve big next season and feels that the addition of some great players will surely help the cause. The player is targeting a triumphant four years with the club and is looking forward
to the start of the new campaign.
The German international is prepared to accept the captaincy role and wants his players to give their all for the team in the next season so that the club can better their 11th place finish last term.
“We can achieve a lot here. We want to compete in Europe and I will be doing my absolute utmost to make sure that happens. I'm not going to let the guys leave the pitch without having put up a fight. I'm here for four years and
that's the way it has to be if we want to be successful with Hoffenheim,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Markus Babbel is impressed with the goalkeeper’s mentality and admires the shot stopper’s belief in the team. He insisted that Wiese is a role model for all the younger players and admits that the 30-year-old’s
immense experience at the highest level will be of great help.
“He is a positive guy to have around the place. The younger players know he is someone to learn from in critical times. He told me his aims for the club and he has big plans,” he concluded.
TSG Hoffenheim will take on Borussia Monchengladbach in their opening game of the season.
