The Werder Bremen goalkeeper has confirmed his departure from the Weserstadion at the end of this season.
Werder Bremen goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108, has revealed his plans of leaving the Weserstadion by the end of this campaign. He reckons that there are limited opportunities of silverware while playing for the River Islanders and therefore
it is time to look for a new club.
Wiese stated that the Bremen bosses have been extremely kind to him in all these years but unfortunately the club have not been able to win trophies consistently. He also showed gratitude to the club fans who have been supportive
towards him thus far and also the managers who have always trusted him.
The shot stopper’s contract will expire by the end of this term and Wiese will be available on a free transfer. However, it is not yet clear where the 30-year-old will move despite having offers from within Germany and abroad.
While talking to local sports publication, Bild, the former FC Kaiserslautern player further added:
"I've had seven great years at Werder. I've played in the Champions League five times and won the DFB-Pokal. It was a great time, with a great coach and great fans. But now I need a new challenge."
On the other hand, Wiese’s agent, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roger-c31516 Wittmann also confirmed that his client will depart once the 2011/12 season expires. He admitted that there are two Premier League clubs who are interested in the German international’s signature
but everything would get clear only at the end of the season.
If reports are to be believed, Wiese has expressed his disappointment at the current wage scheme. The German mentioned that he would prefer joining a club which can offer him a handsome amount and where he can win silverware consistently.
"Of course, it's also about money. As a footballer, your time is limited," Wiese concluded.
The Germany international signed for Bremen in 2005 and so far has managed 187 league appearances including 21 this season. He earned his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut in 2006 and has six international caps under his belt until now. He will next
be seen in action against FC Koln on Saturday, April 7, at the RheinEnergieStadion.
