why does timbaland call himself thomas crown in his songs? Like in promiscuous and chop me up.

That's not even his real name.

I assume it's because he likes the movie The Thomas Crown Affair. Thomas Crown is a smart, incredibly wealthy businessman who likes to use his money to amuse himself in complex, interesting and slightly illegal ways. Steve McQueen played the role in th original movie, and Pierce Brosnan in the remake.

I think this question is seriously miscategorized, though!
