Time Machine trivia?

Ok, some questions that I would like answered:

1. To create a time machine, would it need to travel faster than 299,792,458 m/s (speed of light)?

2. Would it even be possible to travel into the future, as the future has not even occurred yet?

    But you can travel into the future now, but only at the rate of 1 day per day.

  3. 1. Not necessarily. Special Relativity seems to sugest that travelling faster than the speed of light would cause one to travel back in time. SR also requires anything that does so to be incapable of reacting with our universe to maintain causallity. Try a search on google for 'tachyon'.

    2.Yes.  As mentioned above we are already travelling into the future. If you go for a trip on an aeroplane you have actually spent less time on the plane than you have away from the earth because time runs more slowly the faster you travel. The time difference for a flight is microscopic but has been measured using sophisticated equipment.
