Time Paradox questions?

Alright. In theory...

I have a time machine, and I build on the 1st of January, 2007. In such time machines, you can only travel back to the time you built the machine and onwards while it is operational. Well, if this worked, in theory, then from the moment it is operational, infinite objects, travelers, and people should come through at once. We should recieve an amazing flow of letters, items etc. And people. Let's say I want to go back to the day I built it and make adjustments because I am more educated. I go back to January 1st. Any change I make in that dimension could not be in my reality, right? It would be impossible for two things to exist at once in a true dimension. So i would be in a different dimension. That would result in infinite universes, right? How would I get back to my own universe? If there are infinite dimensions, then why isn't there more contact with other parallel universes?

How many parallel universes are there? Which would i be transferred to? And how is it possible to stop someone from dying. If the year now was 2023, and i wanted to go back to 2014 to stop a friend from dying, and bring him back, then how would the abscence in the 7 years of death be filled?

I just want some clearer views on time paradox's and theories. So if you could just tell me all you know about it, or a quick summary, I would appreciate it. My questions were kind of rants, but i am immensly curious. Thanks!
