I don't plan on buying anything, just to take advantage of the free travel gift. It seems to good to be true. What is there incentive on giving you such lavish gifts. Have those of you who have taken advantage of their travels have any problems?

  1. My parents used the free couple of nights and there was no problem, that was 20 years ago. They have thought about joining a few times and just haven't got around to it. My in-laws do have time share and if you can afford it and like to travel to various different holiday destinations then it's a great idea.

  2. Hm...well, my partner and I went along with the intention of 'just getting the free gift" and ended up signing up (and never even got the 'free' gift!).

So..their incentive? Knowing that it's a numbers game..the more people in the room, the more will express an interest, all will have to sit down with a consultant and...the better chance they have that some will sign up.

Just remember, they are EXCELLENT salespeople! They use high pressure sales techniques such as 'hurry, limited time only..just tonight..the first 10 people' etc, and, trust me :-), they really make it very attractive and so so affordable!

We signed up for $20,000 (Australian dollars) and pay about $650 pa management fees. For this, we get 5,000 points each year and can use it at any of the hotels this timeshare company owns (both in Australia and can exchange it for overseas locations). I do love it..but is it worth $20,000 plus ongoing costs??? Nah. Look at buying on the secondary market - people getting out of timeshare!

So if you go..be strong! be prepared to run! And make sure they give you the free gift!!

    :-)
