Time Stamp removal on a Sony Handycam?

I have a sony Handycam vision Video Hi8 CCD-TRV118 NTSC, and i want to get rid of the time stamp if possible.

If it's already on the recorded video, then there is no way to remove the timestamp from Hi8 footage, sorry.  It's now a permanent part of the recorded image.

You can, however, switch it off for future recordings.  Refer to the camcorder's manual for instructions on how to do this.  The option will be in the menus.
