ok so my family just bought one of there digital cable boxes and like..it wont let them record from there VCR anymore. Like, they cant put one of the TV cables from there tv into the VCR. that sounds so confusing I know..But does anyone know How htey could still record from there VCR.

i also know about DVR but they dont want to buy that..they just want to use there VCR.

The box does come with a option to record from VCR but they dont have a cable to hook into the VCR!

DES ANYONE KNOW??? lol

  1. The cable boxes I've seen from Time Warner have an analogue video output. All you should need is a cable. However, timer recording is more problematic, as the VCR will be recording from the line inputs, and not it's internal tuner. Some high-end VCRs come with a remote IR transmitter that allows the VCR to control the cable box. Their VCR may not have this.

    Even with Digital Cable, Time Warner (atleast here in Houston) still transmits analogue cable programs on many channels. They should still be able to record those. You just need to have a signal splitter to send cable to both the Cable Box and VCR.
