I was wondering those of you that are student pilots like me or those of you who are many hour pilots, when or if your a student what was the longest you went in between solo time. Currently I havent soloed in 4 months (dont have much time to fly and when I do I suck all the info I can out of my CFI) Going to tomorrow though!

  1. Having not flown for a certain time, a pilot becomes what is known as 'de-current'. Prior to flying once again, whether solo, pilot in command, night flying or instrument flying, a 'currency check' becomes mandatory. At your stage and with your experience, this factor is even more critical. You need a currency check, where a certifiied instructor will clear you for flying solo. I believe this is applicable every 30 days. This ensures you are neither rusty in flying, nor have you forgotten your procedures.

  2. Time between solos isn't that important.  What is important is how long you've gone without actually flying.  If you haven't soloed in 4 months, but you fly with your CFI every week, it's not too big of a deal.  If you flat out haven't flown in 4 months, and you're going to go straight to a solo, I'd like to meet your CFI to slap some sense into him/her.

  3. You just need to fly and keep it up. But can fly again with out a check ride.  If too long you need to get a Check ride.
