Time for a party (planning)?

how long ahead of time should i plan for a party (sweet sixteen)?

A two part party sounds good. The first part will be like a party-party with a DJ, dancing, snack bar, rave lights, etc. with both guys and girls, and the second part can be a sleep-over with pillow fights, truth or dare, and other teen games.
