  1. Why Kumble ? His performances have always been good. In about 80% of all series he has played, Kumble gave outstanding performances. In the last 5 test matches (3 against SRL in SRL and 2 against SAF in India), Kumble's performance was not of his standard, agreed. In these 5 test matches, Kumble bowled 1,397 balls, conceded 641 runs and claimed 12 wickets (6.7% of all wickets taken by all the bowlers of both sides).

But before that, in the Nov,07 series against Pakistan in India,  Kumble played 3 matches, took 18 wickets for 477 runs in 1,071 balls.

Before that in July,07, he toured England and played 3 matches, took 14 wickets for 483 runs in 862 balls.

You can't reject your star bowler after 5 matches. How many catches off Kumble's bowling got dropped in Sri Lanka ?

As for Ganguly, I believe that he still has potential in ODI. He was sacked without any reason. As long as players are performing, even if they are 50 years old, they should play. That is the incentive for good play.

And what is the greatest performance of Yuvraj Singh or Raina, if not average ? See what their seniors like Sachin or Dravid or Sourav did at the age of 25.

  2. I don't underatand why does the age of the player matter so much. If the player is performing well it should not matter how old he is ultimately all we want is our team to win then it shouldn't matter if a 20 year old or if a 30 year old has given a match winning performance.

Ganguly is a great player and he should be recalled in the ODI team

  3. may be .....

  4. Yes

    Maiba_abu

  5. look........get one thing clear. we should learn from sri lanka................in tht country age doesn't matter

jaysurya though 38 is at the top of his career

so why axe kumble and ganguly

now dont give the ecuse tht they dont play well

when they aren't given a chance to play how do you expect them to prove their matter

i dont think they need to go

    give themk a chance guys

  6. Yes they r old now time tht they hv to do commentary.

  7. GANGULY AND KUMBLE DONOT GO AT THIS TIME

THEY ARE THE BACKBONES OF TEST CRICKET AT THIS TIME

  8. Yes the older guys who are not performing like the used to have to move aside for new blood in Indian team.

  9. yes, u r right.

  10. yeah maybe the time has arrived..but a pinch of experience too in the team wont hurt no?guess v need a balance!

  11. ganguly yes

    kumble no

  12. Kumble im afraid hasnt got teh zip or bounce as much as what he possesed, because of his weakening shoulder. Plus hes going to retire probaly after this australian series or maybe england series. So he wont be dropped.

You cant write ganguly off just after one bad series. I mean, he had a great series before that against south africa, which has one of the best bowling attacks in the world.

The side has already got younger with the young fast bowlers emerging like RP, Ishant, Sreesanth ect.. who are about 19-22.

The 26 year old Gautam Gambhir has already replaced the 30 year old Jaffer. Kumble is going to guy, so the side would get even more younger. this is the same side that won a test match in australia, stopping the australians world record wins.

  13. Yuvraj and Raina are ODI players, Kumble and Ganguly are much better than them at test cricket !
