Time lapse vcr's

Question

I'm working on two vcrs both of which when I record in anything other than a 2 hour speed, the units start to beep and the record light starts to flash. I'm new at working on the time lapse vcrs. Anyone that has any knownledge on these, please help. Feel free to email me.
