There is a 9 and 1/2 hour difference between India and USA ET.

4:30 AM in India = 7:00 PM in ET (in the USA) = 4:00 PM in PT (in the USA)

Indian Standard Time (IST) is the time observed throughout India, with a time offset of UTC+5:30.  (no Daylight Savings Time)

ET in USA is a time offset of UTC-5 (yes Daylight Savings Time)

PT in USA is a time offset of UTC-8 (yes Daylight Savings Time)

Greenwich mean time (GMT) is used to convert times between different time zones.

India Time  = GMT+5.5

America time (I am guessing you are in America?)

USA Time Zones

The United States spans 6 time zones.  It shares the main four time zones with Canada (Eastern Time, Central Time, Mountain Time and Pacific Time).

I'll give New York as an example, it has daylight savings at the moment.  It is on GMT-4 in daylight savings.

So, at 8:00 am in NY, (gmt - 4), it would be 5:30pm in India (gmt +5.5) - 9.5 hours difference between them.

There is a web site that tells you the gmt for all of asia and all of America, so if you aren't in Ny, you can look the gmt for your area up there.

If you know the gmt (eg. -4 and +5.5) you can go to the gmt and type these in, this will tell you what the time is in both places.

*At this time it is  20:17 in India and  10:50 in New York
