Time to Develop Nicotine/Caffeine tolerance or addiction

Hey, I'm trying to find some peer reviewed research on the addictive properties of nicotine and caffiene- In order to form and addiction/tolerance, how much and how often? Likewise, how much can be safely imbibed without habit formation?

The size of the dose (example: 100 mg caffiene)

The schedule of the dose (example: three times a day, everyday for a week)
