as proud ireland fan it is expected that i should support 2 teams ireland and anyone playing england.... but the more i read the anti english comments from the welsh and to a lesser extent irish and scottish fans the more i think its time to change attitudes

so i pose the question..... is it time to put the past where it belongs and for the celtic nations to back england?

  2. bro what you have is called patriotism. you love your country so you will support your country. as for the comments you were reading ignore them as it is a case of sour grapes. Me personally i always say that the better team won and for the love of the game i never criticize about the losing team coz i have been on a losing team and to hear those comments really brings me down even more

  3. i think we should forget the past. I am English but of Irish Origin and support Ireland more than England, but there is way more anti english stuff france and wales now. After the match in Croke Park i think that tension between teams and countries should relax.

  4. I was made redundant in 1990 by thatcher, simply so she could make her tory voting buddies multi millionaires - in the city.

So my whole town (which was vibrant and hard working) now - is just one giant scar in the ground.

Everytime I wake up and look at it (in the morning - can't miss it) I am reminded of her - and how much the english focking hate me, my friends and my family and my class.. and are prepared to use my whole nation as a inflationary economic  football.

I have been unemployed since (no jobs for 50 miles).

The English quite happily tore my towns future apart and it hasn't yet recovered (because of contamination it probably never will).

The English don't ask for forgiveness, they just label  me a benefits scrounger and moralise at me (which actually is the logical equivilent of running over someone with your car - and getting out - and taking the p**s).

They also call wales a principality - again which is the logical equivilant of a frenchman calling poland and russia "repopulation zones 2 - because (switching normans for nazies) they're invaders invaded them also.

They portray 3 million people (the welsh)publically with some of the most disgusting vocabulary available to their language, and create worldwide perceptions that are just utterly deplorable.

They are also turning some of the most  beautiful parts of my country into retirement villages, with people who offer nothing to the longterm economic future of wales.

The sooner wales gets out of Great Britian - and becomes independent members of the EU - (like Ireland) the better the relationship will be.

  5. I am English and find it very frustrating when no one backs us and cant wait to see us fall on our faces. Speaking from personal experience i have always backed British and Irish teams over the rest of the world whenever they are playing.

Abit of banter is fine and done in good humour, it is fun but some people take this so seriously that it makes them look very shallow and this includes the English fans that do it too.
