Time to infuse some young blood into the Indian team, says Sunil Gavaskar – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Manohar-Gavaskar-c91863, former Indian cricketer, thinks it’s time for Indian team to move on and do without some of the senior players in the outfits, if they want to remain a major threat in Test cricket.
The legendary batsman believes that some of the old horses in Blue Shirts have served their purpose and are no longer viable. According to Gavaskar, the need of the hour is to pump some young blood into the veins of the Indian
team.
Sharing his views with the media after India’s dismal performance on day-one of Perth Test, Gavaskar said, “What India now need to do very, very quickly is to look forward and not backward. If it unfortunately means that we have
to say goodbye to some of the players who have served the country for so long and so wonderfully, that we have to do.”
Team India has faltered badly on their tour of Australia and their batting, which  supposedly is their stronghold, has been the biggest let down. For the fourth time in five innings, the Men in Blue were dismissed for a total of
less than 300.
Speaking at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s dismal batting performance, Gavaskar said, “If the team is going to get out for 160-odd it's better to do with young players so that they can learn from experience and serve the country better in future rather
than with those who have been there, seen it and done that but who are not being able to do it now.”
On the opening day of Perth Test, Aussies dismantled the Indians for 161 in their first innings. The big guns of Indian batting contingent, namely http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 (9),
failed to impress yet again.
Adding insult to injury for Indians on day-one, Australian vanguards http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379 Cowan put up an opening stand of 149 runs from just 23 overs. Warner bamboozled the Indian bowling attack with his power hitting and got to
a well deserved century of just 69-deliveries.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will resume day-two trailing by 12-runs with all 10-wickets intact. Cowan is not out on 40 while his partner, Warner, has 104 runs to his name.
