Time to party! Every adult Aussie to get a free beer given the team wins the Ashes
An Australian brewery has offered a free beer for every adult Australian if the Ricky Ponting’s men prevail in the forthcoming Ashes Test series against England which starts in Gabba, Brisbane from 25th of this month.
Carlton and United Breweries, the official sponsors of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 cricket, announced the promotion at a launch in Sydney today. The launching ceremony of the promotion was attended by the Australian captain Ricky Ponting.
VB on Tuesday vowed to "shout the nation" if Australia side clinches back the Ashes title in the five-Test series.
"This summer, when the final wicket falls and the Aussies lift the urn triumphantly, Australia's best cold beer pledges to 'shout the nation'," the company announced. "That's one ice-cold VB for every eligible person of drinking age, and one huge celebration
of the rightful return of the Ashes."
According to the promotion, the brewery will print vouchers in five local newspapers of Australia published from Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide. The vouchers would be printed in the editions of newspapers published on 8th
and 9th of December. These coupons can be redeemed by the adult Australian citizens to claim a free 375 millilitre bottle of Abbotsford based brewery’s beer. According to an estimate, the promotion would cost the brewer up to 20 million Australian
dollars.
Looking at the Ashes statistics, England has not won an Ashes series in Australia over the past 24 years. They lifted the last Ashes trophy on Australian soil during their 1986-87 Ashes tour of Australia. But England has won the last two
home Ashes series and will be defending the title when both sides face of in the tropical climate of Brisbane on November 25.
When it comes to the recent form of both the sides, England holds an edge on the home side after a triumphant home summer and two inspiring tour games while the home side is battling a raft of injuries and poor form ahead of the Ashes. They
