Timea Babos cripples Jana Cepelova in the final round – OrtoLaakarit Open 2011
Second seeded Hungarian Timea Babos flashed past sixth seeded Jana Cepelova with a breadstick at the final round of the OrtoLaakarit Open 2011, an ITF Women’s Circuit event taking place on the indoor hard courts in Helsinki, Finland.
She cruised to register a 6-3, 6-1 success over the Slovak to lift the title her fourth year-to-date title on Sunday.
World number 150 Babos brilliantly outplayed the Slovak, ranked sixty-eight spots below her in the Sony Ericsson WTA Premier Rankings, on their first encounter. After crushing Cepelova in an hour and six minutes long marathon,
the Hungarian grabbed her fourth year-to-date and her fifth career title of the season.
Standing with 432 points on the rankings, Babos confidently entered the Finn arena and bagged entire serves after defending all breakpoints came across. With the help of capitalising on one out of many breakpoint chances to her
advantage, she clinched the opener by winning six games to three. The Hungarian lost her serve once but broke Cepelova’s serve twice to win convincingly.
The second highest player of the tournament, Babos lifted the level of her game in the final set. After Cepelova held her serve in the first game, the Hungarian went on a six games rampage and earned a breadstick against the Slovak.
She kept entire serves with extra-ordinary defensive skills and broke Cepelova’s serve three times.

and cashed in five out of nine breakpoint opportunities to  her advantage. Furthermore, Babos took full advantage of the several unforced errors and double faults the Slovak committed and smashed three aces to seal the deal.
The seeded Hungarian displayed exceptional skills and abilities this season so far. She triumph her first season title of the season at Astana (crushed Tadleja Majeric of Slovenia with a bagel) in June. Her run of form continued
in remaining tournaments as she bagged titles at Stuttgart-Vaihingen (rallied past German Korina Perkovis) and Saquenay (overpowered fifth seeded American Julia Boserup in straight sets) ITF Women’s Circuit events before entering this tournament.  Babos also
made semi-final appearances at Kristinehamn, La Coruna, Toronto and Bratislava ITF events and was in awesome form in Helsinki.
Babos is geared up for the next season and is currently standing at an 8-2 win – loss record.
