Timea Bacsinszky withdraws from the French Open – Tennis News
Swiss tennis professional, Timea Bacsinszky, told the Roland Garros French Open officials that she will not participate in the mega event next week. She hasn’t recovered from the left abdominal injury that has been troubling her
throughout the season forcing her to drop multiple ranks to world number 436.
Bacsinszky has just played nine matches this year and one of them was played in the opening round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome where she was losing miserably 0-6, 0-3 to the Italian tennis ace, Sara Errani, before
pulling out of the contest due to an injury. It is the same injury that forced her out of the competition in Grand Prix De SAR and BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
She started her season in February against the Aussie number one, Samantha Stosur, and lost the match in straight sets that placed her team behind in the Federation Cup tie. The tour of Acapulco also proved to be a very short one;
considering her first round exit at the hands of the fourth seed Romanian, Irina-Camelia Begu.
Since then, she has been retiring in every competition due to the persistent abdominal injury. After having a thorough check-up with the doctors and consultations with the physio, she decided to stay out of action for the rest
of the clay court season and that means she will not be participating in the upcoming Grand Slam tournament next week.
Almost two years earlier, she was ranked 37 in the world and now she is 436 in the world. Injuries can ruin the career but considering that the Swiss tennis icon is just 22-year-old, she still has a lot of time to recover and climb
her way back into Top-40 players in the world; may be better than that.
World will miss a talented superstar for sure but it is good for her health and future as well. People would like to see her in action but not until she can explore her best form with 100 percent match fitness. Everyone hopes that
she recovers from the injury and returns as an improved player.
