Timer for electric shower?

Is it possible to fit a timer to my electric shower in my house.

my kids keep leaving it on...costing me a fortune!!!!

  1. No it isn't feasible, mainly due to the high current involved. Get a grip and sort your kids out.


  2. It could be done with a relay to control the heavier draw. If your shower is controlled by a standard switch, it should be able to be replaced with a timer rated for the voltage and amperage.  Call a qualified professional electrician to do the work,  there are timers used for hot water tanks that are rated for 30  amps, so you should be able to get one for the shower.

  3. get a plumber to fit a electronic valve in the cold water supply pipe,with a key switch,you have the key
