Question:

Timeshare condo question?

If I have a timeshare condo, how do I rent it to someone if it's in my name? Kind of a silly question I guess. My problem is I'll lose my week by the end of September, but figured maybe I could make a buck off it by letting someone else use it. I'm just afraid when they check in that there will be a problem because it's in my name. Anyone know how these timeshares work when it comes to that?

  1. Since it is your condo you have to make the reservations.  If you have a fixed week you might not have to make them since the same week is always available to you.  No matter what the situation is, all what you have to do is let the reservations department or member services know that your condo will be used by a guest and not yourself.

  2. Notify your management at the time share that someone else will be using your unit and give them the name. Request management to fax / mail you a copy of your original confirmation of your reservation with the new person's name on it.

  3. we too have time shares, we send our kids, sibling, all you have to do is make the reservations.  Just put their names down as the guest.  leave the money amount out of it.  that's between you and who you rent it to.  but made sure they pay all their bills before leaving the condo or you will be billed.  have them sign a contract stating they will pay all charge while they are there.
