  1. Are you sure it has a timing belt? Nissan Sentras (Sunny is European version)  have a timing chain, which doesn't need to be replaced.

The chains are internally lubricated engine parts which are covered 10 yrs 100,000 miles by the powertrain warranty. The main chains have automatic tensioners to compensate for wear and stretching of the chains so in theory as long as the engine oil is changed at the proper intervals they should outlast the warranty.

I couldn't find any maintenance interval information on the chains. Unless you begin to hear a rattling from the front engine area it is best to leave them alone

  2. Last year. They rot with age also.I never buy vehicles with timing belts.

  3. pretty soon. 50000 is the recomendedmileage.

  4. If like most modern cars it is also the cam belt get in changed immediately if it breaks you might need new valves

  5. It really does not matter about the age of the car on when to replace it is how you drive it but if I'm not mistaking i thing your car has a timing chain

  6. The rubber wears down over time and use, because of the age of the car you should change it, and look at all the rubber hoses and other belts and check them for wear.

Also if you tires are over 7 years old you need to get new ones. The rubber loses its ability to "stick" to the road after 5-7 years.

  7. every 60000 miles

    60000

    120000

    180000

  8. Absolutely - the belt will give you no warning or symptom what so ever before it fails - and you'll be stranded.

  9. Different makes specify different mileage intervals. Most are between 40 and 60 K. However there is a five year time interval because the belts dry rot and degrade. Change the belt ASAP.

  10. Now! would be good

They are recommended to be changed at every 40,000 miles

  11. Yes, change it. the age alone would make ne change it as soon as I could.

  12. yes you do need to change the belt irespective of the mileage it is because of the age more than the miles if you dont change the belt might break ,and that will cost you a lot of money and time off the  road
