Timo Glock admits Virgin Racing Team might face difficulties in qualifying
Virgin Racing Team’s, Timo Glock, has recently admitted that his team might go through some problems in qualifying for races this season since the team is struggling to improve its performance.
Timo was quite disappointed after the team failed to apply some major upgrades to the MVR-02 at the last race, which took place in Turkey over a week ago. The German driver believes that the team must get rid of its problems and improve its car in order
to progress, or, otherwise, the team will risk falling behind the progress of its rivals.
“If our development packages do not work, it will soon be difficult for us to qualify for the race”, Glock, referring to the newly reintroduced 107 percent qualifying rule.
However, he insists that he is hoping for the best from his team and that he is not losing patience. He is still committed to the team and he is trying his best in helping them as well.
“I stand behind the team. We need to solve our problems and change only a few things and then we will make progress”, said Glock.
Virgin Racing Team has been unable to secure a single point up until now in its 2 year long Formula 1 career. The team became a part of the sport in 2010 but they failed to prove anything.
They improved their performance this year though and they are hoping to improve their 2011 car in order to compete more actively in the championship.
The team recently carried out some straight-line tests in Spain at the Idiada proving ground with a young British driver by the name of Adrian Quaife-Hobbs.
The team’s principal, John Booth, has recently stated that he is pleased with the testing the team carried out recently, as it provided the team with some useful data, which is going to help the team in improving its car in the near future, in order to achieve
better results during the races.
