Timo Glock says he faced problems in left hand corners at Marina Bay – Formula 1 news
Timo Glock of Marussia faced problems during the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay circuit after he touched the wall.
The toe on the right rear of his car suffered the collision and made him cautious over the circuit, he then completed 40 laps with the prime tyres.
Glock managed to finish the Singapore GP at the 12th position despite touching the wall during the race. He told that he tried to stay close to Caterham so that he may cross them.
Timo Glock said, “I knew I had a chance against Caterham if we stayed close in the first stint and that's what I tried. For some reason my rear tyres dropped a bit and I touched the wall and I thought the race was over as the toe on the rear right was definitely
slightly out.”
He explained that he was facing problems at the left hand corners but he kept pushing and tried to save the car. Furthermore, he told that the race went smoothly and he completed 40 laps with prime tyres but the last lap had some issues as the rear tyres
were dropping off significantly. Besides, he said that the results he achieved during the last few months prove their efforts and are great for the team.
Team principal John Booth expressed his satisfaction with the results of his team over the last weekend. He commented that their engineers and mechanics made them achieve perfection on the Marina Bay Street Circuit. He added that the speed their car has
exhibited over the circuit proves the efforts and hard work of their engine provider Cosworth.
Booth said, “The improvement in the raw pace of the car has come from all the hard work that has been undertaken in Banbury and by our engine partner Cosworth in Northampton.”
Marussia has been unable to attain any point in the current season, until now, however they have managed to come close to the top ten contenders of the race. In Formula 1 only top 10 teams during a race are awarded points. In the Italian Grand Prix Charles
Pic, teammate of Glock, was only able to make it to the finish line at the 16th position where Glock finished the race at 17th position.
