Timon Evenhuis seizes Men’s 50m breaststroke title: Day four – 2012 Netherlands Championships
Timon Evenhuis of TriVia seized gold medal of the Men’s 50m breaststroke on final day of the 2012 Netherlands Swimming Championships in Amsterdam on Sunday, June 10.
Evenhuis served notice of his talent and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for the crown of the event. He showed no mercy to his challengers and stayed comfortably ahead of them throughout the discipline for gold medal.
With his fascinating efforts, he remained half body length faster from his strongest opponent and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 28.68 seconds for the title of the event.
The gold medallist was followed by Bram Dekker of EIFFELswimmersPSV, who was 0.52 seconds apart and made his way to the medal rostrum for silver medal with an effort of 29.20 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Pieter Jan de Vries of AZ&PC, who was only 0.15 seconds apart and cruised his way towards the finishing wall with an effort of 29.35 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was secured by Roy Smeenge of E ON-NZA, who stayed just a touch behind and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 29.45 seconds.
Smeenge was trailed by Rudy Ted de Haan of Anker Team Groningen, who was only 0.09 seconds apart and settled on the finishing wall as fifth best finisher with the timing of 29.54 seconds.
Haan remained Sebas van Lith of RTC Drachten, who was 0.07 seconds apart and submitted an effort of 29.61 seconds for sixth position.
Similarly, Lith enjoyed an advantage of 0.30 seconds over Rutger Sloof of DWK, who secured seventh position of the discipline by reporting a time of 29.91 seconds.
Following that, Marijn van Zundert of E ON-NZA, failed to secure any position as he was disqualified from the event due to a false start.
The championship concluded after the completion of all planned events while the position holders were invited on the victory stand for medals and accolades at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship. In addition, the arena appreciated laudable
efforts of all position holders in their exclusive events.
