Timothy Bradley: I have learned some important tactics to beat Pacquiao – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, the current WBO light welterweight champion recently revealed that he has been watching Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. He further said that watching all the three fights Pacquiao had against Marquez is a way of learning
how to handle the WBO welterweight champion. Bradley is scheduled to take on Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Manny Pacquiao currently stands with 54 wins, 3 losses, 2 ties and 38 knockouts, whereas Bradley is an unbeaten fighter with 28 wins, 0 loss and 12 knockouts in his portfolio. Even though Bradley has successfully remained unbeaten to date, he still is very
inexperienced compared to Manny. Most analysts are of the view that Bradley has not yet faced any fierce fighter and that against Manny will be Bradley’s first ever super-fight.
Bradley, in his recent interview revealed, “The Marquez fight really showed me a lot. Marquez has the fine ability to frustrate and to counter punch. Marquez was definitely able to lay back and to counter punch and stuff like that. He was able to isolate
Pacquiao at times with solid counter punching and he was able to make Manny think in there.”
Although Bradley has chosen to learn from Marquez, it should be noted here that the latter was never successful against Manny. Manny went head to head with Marquez thrice. The first fight between both the pugilists ended in a controversial draw. Manny won
the second fight with a split decision, whereas Manny won the third fight via major decision. So, the question pops up, is Bradley really looking forward to a win or a less if he is trying to learn from Marquez?
The bout between Manny and Bradley is being considered among the most happening bouts of the year. Both the fighters are in their best forms, and it is definitely going to be a tough match, unlike the match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto.
Most analysts have already rated Mayweather as the dominant force for the match, but they are still confused when it comes to Pacquiao vs. Bradley.
