Timothy Bradley: I have to hurt Manny Pacquiao in the ring – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, the ‘Desert Storm’, has warned Manny Pacquiao of his strength and his combat-ready skills. The WBO light welterweight champion says he is not stepping in the ring with Manny just for fun or for a solid paycheck, instead he wants to hurt
Manny to prove his mettle. While talking to ESPN last night, Bradley came up with some provocative statements for the Pac-man.
Bradley, who currently has 28 wins and 0 losses in his portfolio, is determined to take on the fiery fighter Manny Pacquiao at his best. Timothy Bradley has remained unbeaten to date, which makes this match a must-win event if he wants to prolong his streak.
Last night with ESPN, Bradley said, “I touch gloves in the centre of the ring when the fight begins. I don’t touch gloves during the bout. It’s not going to be any, ‘brother-in-law’ in there. I’m here to win, not coming for a paycheck…I’m going to hurt him,
I gotta hurt him. Absolutely, I have to hurt this guy, and get respect from Pacquiao early…I’m going to be victorious.”
WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is currently considered among the best fighters in the industry. For Bradley, choosing to fight Pacquiao can be a regretful decision. Most boxing analysts and former fighters have already chosen Pacquiao as their
favourite. According to them, Bradley is too young and inexperienced to take on a fighter like Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is powerful and speedy at the same time, whereas Bradley lacks that much needed hard-hitting power to kill his opponent. Bradley’s strength is his resilience and speed, but that is not going to be a challenge for Manny to counter. To slow down Manny,
power punches are required. If Manny does not bleed he will not stop.
In his recent interview, Manny appreciated Bradley’s fighting skills but implied that Bradley will lose the fight. Going head to head with Manny is probably the biggest decision of Bradley’s life. If he is successful against the WBO welterweight champion,
Bradley will definitely be listed among the best. However, if he loses then his portfolio will have its first loss at the hands of the Pac-man.
