Timothy Bradley: I will step in the ring to destroy Pacquiao – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, the unbeaten American fighter who is due to take on the current WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, believes he knows what it will take to bring down the pound for pound king.
In his recent interview, Bradley was asked about the hype of the fight and whether it is disturbing his practice. He replied, “When I’m in the ring, I’m in there to seek and destroy, and that’s the difference between me and other fighters.”
It should be noted here that Pacquiao has not lost a single fight since 2005 March. He has won his last 15 fights straight. Out of these 15, he won 8 fights through knockout. On the other hand, Bradley has remained unbeaten to date. He is 28 years old and
has a long career ahead of him. This will be Bradley’s first ever mega-bout and therefore he plans on stealing the show.
He added, “You know what? I don’t consider myself a rookie in this game at all. I’ve been in some big fights in my life. I know how to fight.”
Most analysts were of the view that Bradley has great respect for Pacquiao, which will hinder him to take down the Filipino. However, he washed away all such notions by saying, “You know, I don’t really care what happens in that ring. The referee is in there
to do a job, and I’m in there to do mine. I’m ready. I’m really ready for this fight. I feel that this is my moment, and I’m definitely going to seize the moment. I’m not going to keep shaking hands with him. I shake hands with him in the beginning. That’s
what we do in the beginning.”
According to the ratings, Bradley is being considered a 3-1 underdog. Most analysts believe Pacquiao will take away the fight, especially since his WBO welterweight title is on the line. While they have their perception, Bradley thinks he is all ready to
beat the champion. Moreover, he believes that unlike Pacquiao’s previous opponents, he knows exactly what to do and how to bring him down.
