Timothy Bradley: No rounds off, round by round, I have to win each one – Boxing News
Unbeaten American fighter Timothy Bradley will be facing Manny Pacquiao this Saturday for the WBO Welterweight title. Bradley, who will have his career’s first ever mega-bout, believes he has everything to beat the Filipino number one pound for pound boxer.
According to Bradley, this is his opportunity to prove his mettle to the world. The undefeated fighter believes he needs to win each round in order to overtake the Filipino.
Yesterday, in an interview, Bradley said, “It's all or nothing. No rounds off. Round by round, I have to win each one. I came from the lumberjack yards, fighting in little ballrooms. Now we're in Las Vegas ... and we're going to be fighting in front of thousands
of people. It's been a long journey, but I knew at some point I would get here. I don't look pretty, I don't look spectacular. I don't have that spark. I don't do that one thing where everyone says 'Wow'. I know I'm going to have to do it in this fight. You
could see some greatness on Saturday.”
It should be noted here that even though Bradley has maintained his record of being unbeaten, he has never fought anyone as good as Pacquiao. This is probably the reason why Bradley is rated as the underdog for the fight. Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach
believes that Bradley does not have the speed and punching power to defeat the Filipino. However, Roach believes that Bradley’s fighting style of putting his head in front of his body can be dangerous for Manny. According to Roach, Pacquiao can receive severe
cuts if his face collides with Bradley’s head.
Similarly, even Bob Arum, Top Rank’s Hall of Famer promoter, believes Bradley is in the shape to create a ring upset for Pacquiao. According to Arum, Bradley looks good and he can do what Marquez could not last year. Talking about Marquez, Bradley believes
that he is better than the Mexican legend and he will prove it in the ring. This is Bradley’s only chance to give his career a jump. If he wins, he will be fighting with other bigger fighters in the industry.
