Timothy Bradley: Random drug testing is awesome for boxing – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, the unbeaten American boxer who is ready to take on the WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on June 9, expressed his views regarding random drug testing for boxing matches. Surprisingly, the pugilist did not shy off from saying that
it ‘awesome’ for the sport to have such tests.
Bradley said that he is always ready to take on random drug testing anytime. He added, “I think that it (random testing) is awesome for boxing. Having the random drug testing in effect, and the blood testing. I think that it's great. Absolutely. I would
embrace it. Hey, bring on the needles. You can come and check me every single day if you needed to. I would embrace a drug test any day. Any day of the week, you can come see me.”
Timothy Bradley’s revelations came as a surprise since Manny Pacquiao, the fighter being challenged by Bradley, has always been hesitant towards such drug tests. Bradley added, “Any day of the week that you need to. Any day, week or month of the year, you
can come and drug test me. It's all natural over here with Tim Bradley. Natural. God-given talent.”
Timothy Bradley will be taking on the Filipino champion on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Manny Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight will be on the line during the fight. This will be Timothy Bradley’s first ever mega-bout against such a high-profile pugilist.
Bradley, who is currently leading an unbeaten streak, says he knows the secret to beat Manny Pacquiao. He seems pretty confident of the fact that Manny Pacquiao is now done.
In his previous interview, Bradley came up saying he has watched all three matches of Manny vs. Marquez and now he knows how to defeat Pacquiao. According to Bradley, Marquez did a good job against Pacquiao but he was unable to grab victories. He added that
he will follow Marquez’s blueprint to beat Pacquiao.
If Bradley is able to beat Pacquiao, it will be the biggest win of his career, and the worst defeat for the Filipino fighter who is at the verge of retiring.
