Timothy Bradley believes Manny Pacquiao is afraid of him – Boxing News
Following his controversial split decision win over Manny Pacquiao, Timothy Bradley was verbally attacked by possibly everyone out there, including the boxing fans, analysts, former fighters, judges and so on. However, the unbeaten American did not give
up and maintained that he is the rightful owner of the WBO welterweight title.
Now, Bradley wants to go head to head with Pacquiao once again, in order to grab a more decisive win over the Filipino to prove he indeed is the better man. However, unfortunately it seems like Pacquiao’s camp is not willing to go for a showdown against
Bradley this year at least.
Top Rank’s Bob Arum who promotes Pacquiao flew to the Philippines last week in order to decide the Filipino’s next opponent. While Pacquiao maintained that he wants to take on Bradley, Arum wanted the former WBO titlist to lock horns with Mexican Juan Manuel
Marquez or Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, believing the latter two will bring in more pay-per-view proceedings.
“He couldn't knock me out with two peg legs,” said Bradley in an interview with The Desert Sun’s Leighton Ginn. “Me, healthy, I'm going to beat him worse,” he added.
“If Manny wants to do it, let's do it. It's been a circus around here. I've been sitting around here waiting. I want the fight but he hasn't decided yet,” Bradley added expressing his frustration over the entire issue.
Bradley and Pacquiao locked horns on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. While most analysts had Pacquiao winning 10 out of 12 rounds, the judges decided Bradley as the winner, shocking fans and others all around the world.
Later on, the World Boxing Organisation went for an independent review of the fight. Five judges were selected for reviewing the fight and they all declared Pacquiao the winner, leaving no room for a debate. However, the WBO soon announced that it cannot
reverse the decision made by the judges present at ringside but can definitely order a rematch.
For now, Bradley is waiting for Pacquiao to call him out for a rematch so that the unbeaten American can cement his legacy against the most explosive fighter of the world.
