Timothy Bradley believes Pacquiao could not stop Marquez – Boxing News
Unbeaten American fighter Timothy Bradley believes it is time for the Filipino WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to lose. Bradley, who has time and again asserted he has great respect for Pacquiao, thinks the Pac-man was helpless against Marquez.
According to Bradley, if Pacquiao could not stop Marquez, then he will definitely not be able to stop him.
In his recent interview, challenger Timothy Bradley said, “He couldn't stop a 38-year-old [Juan Manuel] Marquez, so he's definitely not going to stop a 28-year-old like myself. They may think that Marquez just has Manny's number, but whatever Marquez can
do, I can do 10 times better. He's great at counter-punching, and I'm devastating at counter-punching. My counter-punching ability is unbelievable. I beat most of my guys on counter-punching. It's effective aggressiveness with counter-punching.”
When Pacquiao was asked about how Bradley will retaliate in the ring, the Filipino said that he is not sure of what Bradley will bring to the ring but he (Pacquiao) will definitely counter his tactics and defeat him. According to Pacquiao, he is 100% ready
to give Bradley the most brutal beating of his life.
It should be noted here that Pacquiao has sparred with Russian pugilists who have similar fighting style as that of Bradley. One pugilist who trained with Bradley in Baguio City asserted that the Filipino champion is way better than what most people think.
He could not believe Pacquiao’s speed and punching power.
Similarly, even Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is of the view that the Filipino will beat the ‘Desert Storm’ by round. When asked to make a prediction regarding the fight, Freddie Roach said that Pacquiao would be able to knock out Bradley by round 6 at
most.
Furthermore, Bradley has previously asserted that he wants to climb up the ladder and face fighters like Marquez and Mayweather. According to Bradley, this is his only chance to make it big on the main scene. Bradley believes he will easily beat Pacquiao,
and so he is planning his next bout against Marquez or Mayweather. If Pacquiao loses, not only will he lose his title but also his honour of being the best pound for pound boxer in the world.
