Timothy Bradley believes he is more threatening in the later rounds – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, WBO Light Welterweight Champion, believes he gets stronger as the rounds go on. According to Bradley, he is more threatening in the later rounds during his bout. Bradley is currently scheduled to face Manny Pacquiao, the current WBO welterweight
champion, on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao’s title will be on the line during the bout.
Bradley, who has managed to maintain his undefeated streak to date, believes that Pacquiao will try his best to end the bout in the initial rounds but it will not happen. He added, “They don't want this fight to go past five or six (rounds). The other side
wants me to get out of there early, because I get more dangerous as the fight goes on. They want me to go out wide and for Pacquiao to catch me in between and finish me off. If he can't rattle me, it's going to be one h**l of a fight. If it's nothing too crazy
then it's going to be one h**l of a fight. I think I will make an adjustment. I turn it up after six rounds, when most fighters start to fade.”
To a certain extent, Bradley is right. This is the reason as to why Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach wants Pacquiao to knock out Bradley in the initial rounds. In his recent interview, Freddie Roach said that Pacquiao has not won a single fight through knockout
since 2007 but this time he will. Roach believes he has the perfect strategy to counter Bradley’s dirty tactics.
Similarly, even Pacquiao knows the fact that Bradley is a dangerous fighter. Pacquiao is training with Bradley’s ‘clone’ in order to be up to the mark. According to Pacquiao, Bradley uses his head and elbows a bit too much which is an objectionable part
of his game. However, he added, he will counter Bradley’s head and elbows with his ferocious punches.
For now, both fighters are training to their utmost to make the fight a tough one. If Pacquiao is able to beat to Bradley, it will be the latter’s first ever defeat.
