Timothy Bradley: honestly I felt I did enough to win the fight – Boxing News
As pointed out by his trainer Joel Diaz earlier, Timothy Bradley feels dejected for the public outrage against him. Bradley, who defeated Pacquiao to win the WBO welterweight title on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley won the show via controversial
split decision and found each and every member of the boxing fraternity, apart from two judges who scored for him, against him.
As of now, the current WBO welterweight titlist feels dejected but not remorse. According to Bradley, he had won the fight and he did everything he could to stop Pacquiao. In his recent interview, the unbeaten American came up saying, “I felt I won the fight,
you know what I mean? I said ‘you know what would solve all this?’ A rematch!. A lot of people are having a problem with that [win], you know a lot of them didn't think I did enough to win the fight. But honestly I felt I did enough to win the fight. I out-pointed
him, I out-boxed him. In the later rounds Pacquiao got tired, I poured on the points in the later rounds and I pulled off an upset win."
He added that by handing the title over to Pacquiao would have discredited him, the judges and everybody else who is involved in boxing. Bradley said that giving the title in does not make any sense and that he is the rightful owner of the gold, as declared
by the judges.
On the other hand, after getting to know about the WBO’s review result that claimed him the winner, Manny Pacquiao has urged his supporters to stay calm. He released a statement that read, “My supporters shouldn't worry. We're going to get that title.”
However, it should be noted here that even though Pacquiao is looking forward to a rematch, his promoter Bob Arum thinks it is not worth going for, at least now. According to Arum, Bradley has already lost his credibility for boxing lovers and a rematch
so soon will not be a big-seller. He added that the best for Pacquiao right now is to fight either Marquez or Cotto again. According to Arum, Pacquiao should then go for a Bradley rematch.
