Timothy Bradley reckons his bout with Amir Khan will not generate enough money on PPV – Boxing news
The current World Boxing Council’s and World Boxing Organisation’s World Light Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley reckons his bout with the new unified International Boxing Federation’s and World Boxing Association’s Super Light Welterweight Champion
Amir Khan will not be big enough to generate a lot of money on the Pay-Per-View.
The Bolton’s finest, Khan, who recently stopped Zab Judah in the fifth round on July 23, 2011 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas to claim the IBF title, desperately wants to a title shot with Bradley as he wants to become the unified champion before
going up to 147lbs division.
However, Bradley has not shown any interest for a potential bout against Khan as he wants to go for big fights with the likes of the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather and the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao.
“I don't think we're big enough,” Bradley said. “I want to get to the point where we're big sellers. I honestly don't think we would generate a lot on pay per view. That's the type of fight it should be, but I don't think it would generate that
much, as opposed to a Floyd fight or a Manny fight, with big money involved. That's what I'm talking about.”
Khan, who is widely known as King Khan, claimed the Desert Strom, Bradley, is scared of him and that is why he is making lame excuses to avoid the fight. Khan also suggested the boxing organisations to strip off the two titles Bradley has, as he said he
is not giving others a chance to win them.
The 27-year-old American pugilist, Bradley, who has won 27 of his 28 fights including 11 by the way of a knockout, responded to Khan’s statements.
Bradley stated Khan is a good fighter but he is not doing what people exactly expect from him. Moreover, Bradley declared he can easily outplay the Brit when he fights him.
Bradley remarked, “I'm not going to bash him, but I know when I do fight him, I'm going to kick his (behind).”
