Timothy Bradley responds to Amir Khan, says he’s a poster boy who will be knocked out
Ahead of his upcoming January 29 unifying contest with Devon Alexander, WBO junior welterweight king Timothy Bradley has responded to claims made by WBA titlist Amir Khan by predicting “King Khan” will
be knocked out in his upcoming clash with Marcos Maidana.
A fuming Bradley contacted Boxing Fanhouse and said: “"You hear all of that stuff that Amir Khan is talking about? Well you can tell Amir Khan that he ain't s*** This dude swore up and down that he's
the best 140-pounder in the world, and, man, you know, he ain't s***. He ain't s*** until he fights the best."
Getting down to brass tax, Bradley said: “I really think that Maidana is going to beat him [by knockout]. Khan has a glass jaw."
The comments were largely a response to those made earlier by Khan. Khan had said in an interview with boxingscene.com that he believes his future opponent, Maidana, is more talented than both Bradley
and Alexander. He followed the talk up with the claim that once he would have considered Bradley a threat, but now that he would "walk all over him."
Upon hearing that Khan judged Maidana a more talented fighter than him, Bradley laughed: “He believes that Maidana is a better fighter? That's crazy. That Maidana is a more skilled fighter? That's just
stupid."
In a related development, Bradley told FanHouse he was set to appear at an HBO promotional photo shoot in Los Angeles on Friday, for which Khan, Alexander, and Maidana will also be in attendance.
The meeting will likely cause friction, but those involved said they will be professional in public and save the real blows for the ring.
That doesn’t mean they’ll skim on verbal shots, however.
"I'm supposed to be there in Los Angeles at 3 PM, but I'm not sure where it is,” Bradley said. “I know that I'm going to be talking some s***. This boy [Khan] think he's something, but he's just a poster
boy.”
