Timothy Bradley talks about his punching power – Boxing News
While Hall of Famer trainer Timothy Bradley thinks Timothy Bradley lacks good punching power, the unbeaten American defends saying he is good enough. Bradley will be challenging Filipino champion Manny Pacquiao for the WBO Welterweight title on Saturday,
June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley has been rated as a 3 is to 1 underdog for the fight, as many of his critics believe he lacks the speed and power required to take down Pacquiao.
When asked about his punching power and what his critics say, Bradley asserted, “Why don't some of these guys saying I don't have power get in the ring with me, spar with me and take some of these shots I'm dishing out? I know the power is there. It's just
a matter of me getting into a fight and actually showing it.”
He added, “I got power. I don't have one-punch knockout power - But if I didn't have any kind of power then these guys would just be walking straight through me. But the fact [is] that these guys start holding me and start looking for a way out.”
Bradley even said that he has knocked out fighters with headgear on, so he thinks he has the punching power for sure. He said he is not feather-fisted like Paul Malignaggi. He said he has a rock solid fist that can surely knock any fighter out.
While Bradley thinks he is good enough to knock out the Filipino, others think he still needs to work harder in the ring once he is against the WBO Welterweight champion. According to Freddie Roach, Bradley is all about using head butts and elbows, but his
punches are not good enough.
For now, Bradley and Pacquiao both are present in Los Angeles. Both of them finished their training camps last week and now they are busy attending press conferences to promote the fight. Saturday is the day when both the fighters will face each other in
the ring to decide who is the better man. If Bradley is able to knock down Pacquiao, he will definitely prove his point.
