Timothy Bradley vows he will fight Amir Khan when the right time comes – Boxing news
Timothy Bradley, who is the current World Boxing Organisation World Light Welterweight Champion, has revealed he is not afraid of taking on the currently unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion,
Amir Khan, as he vowed he will fight Khan when the right time comes.
The Desert Storm, Bradley, who is set to face Joel Casamayor on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, was stripped off his title due to his inactivity and especially after he refused to fight Khan in a unification bout.
The 28-year-old American pugilist, Bradley, told the media he did the right thing by not fighting Khan at that time, as he stated he did not have have any benefit out of it.
Bradley, who is a winner of 27 of his 28 professional fights (1 no contest), with 11 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, recently signed with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions and he believes if he fights Khan now it will be a sell-out.
“If I was to have fought Amir Khan and beat him, I don't think it would have done anything for my career,” Bradley said. “If I was to fight Amir Khan through Top Rank I think it would be huge.”
In the end, Bradley responded to the critics who claim he is ducking Khan as he is afraid of him. Bradley remarked he is least bothered about all the comments and statements which people pass. Bradley insisted he is looking for a big payday and when the
time will be right he will fight Khan.
“That don't bother me at all. Criticism don't pay the bills,” Bradley said. “One day Amir Khan and me will get in the ring. We will settle it then. I don't need him. He needs me. I don't really care what Amir Khan thinks or what people say about me. When
the time is right, Amir and I will settle our differences in the ring.”
Let’s see if Bradley and Khan set up a bout with each other as their bout will certainly pull a huge crowd into the arena.
