Timothy Derijck: Przemyslaw Tyton laid there without moving – Dutch Eredivisie news
PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Timothy-Derijck-c35129 in the match against Ajax Amsterdam at Philips Stadion. The shot-stopper sustained a concussion after Derijck’s knee hit him in the head.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 sent a low pass into the box for Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. The Polish International rushed off his line to collect the cross, but collided
with the Belgian stopper, who made a sliding effort inside the box to clear the ball.
The centre-back revealed that he wanted to keep Sigthorsson off and that tempted him into the sliding tackle. However, his knee unfortunately hit the forehead of Tyton, leaving him still on the pitch.
“Eriksen gave the ball inside the box between the defence and goalkeeper. I wanted to keep Sigthorsson off, but the ball was too far for both of us. Then I jumped a tackle and Tyton’s forehead struck against my knee. I now feel that it was a serious blow,
as I now have problem with my knee”
“I laid with my back to him and after I was treated, I saw him lying on the ground. The longer he lay there, the more I began to worry. He laid there without moving”, Derijck said while talking to the media.
After the collision, the goalkeeper immediately lost consciousness. The Polish custodian was treated for at least 15 minutes on the pitch. The gloves-man – thankfully – regained consciousness on his way to the hospital.
Reports from Eindhoven indicate that although the CT scan has not revealed any fracture in the skull or any serious damage to the brain, the 24-year-old will remain under observation at the Neurology section of the hospital.
