Timothy Phillips captures Men’s 100m butterfly heat - 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
MACNC’s Timothy Phillips dominated the Men’s 100m butterfly heat on day three of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals in Paloalto, California, on Thursday, August 4.
The session of the prelims conducted the Men’s 100m butterfly heat, where Phillips hit the finishing wall in 52.03 seconds to win the race. In the corresponding meet, Tyler Mcgill of AUBSE finished second in 52.17 seconds and Davis Tarwater of MACNC was
placed third in a time of 52.29 seconds.
MACNC’s Eugene Godsoe and Giles Smith of UN01AZ settled in a tie for fourth place in 52.50 seconds. Christopher Brady of NBACMD grabbed the sixth spot in 52.84 seconds, while Daniel Madwed of CWMI finished seventh in 52.95 seconds. Kyler Swol Van of MINNMN
was placed eighth in a time of 53.00 seconds and Robert Bollier of STANPC finished ninth in 53.30 seconds. Miles Joye of UN05ST settled tenth in a time of 53.47 seconds.
In the meantime, David Nolan of HACMA won the Men’s 100m butterfly B heat with a winning time of 53.64 seconds. Paul Davis of NACSE finished second in 53.81 seconds and Seth Stubblefield of CALPC was placed third in 53.89 seconds. Jake Tapp of CAN finished
fourth on the podium with a time of 54.03 seconds, while Mark Dylla of ABSCGA settled fifth in 54.06 seconds. Benedict Hesen of UN03FL wound up sixth in 54.08 seconds, whereas, Peter Geissinger of UVAAVA and David Russell of CALPC settled in a tie for seventh
spot in 54.10 seconds.
Michael Arnold of GOLDGA snared the Men’s 100m butterfly C heat with a sterling time of 54.14 seconds. Paul Gordon of IOWAIA wound up second in 54.24 seconds, while Erich Peske of DACAPC settled third in a time of 54.25 seconds. Alexander Tipton of FORDAZ
grabbed fourth spot in 54.34 seconds and Randall Tom of UN01HI finished fifth in a time of 54.35 seconds.
Coleman Allen of UN1IE finished sixth in a time of 54.42 seconds and Matthew Ellis of CATFL settled seventh in 54.46 seconds. Finally, Carl Weigley of CLOVCC was placed eighth after he touched the finishing wall in 54.51 seconds.
