Ok i have the round pen thing down. Im making it 100.

The roof is going to be tin that way i can still work with my horse during the winter.

But my question is, when it rains will it be really loud? Our barn has a tin roof, and even if it rains a little its extremly loud. Is there something you can put over it so its not so loud? What does it cost, estimated? I have the hight and everything to.

But during the winter will it be very cold, like will the tin make it colder?

  1. Put a big tarp on it i think this will work as thats what i would do!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will hit that instead but also in summer you can remove it!!!   it will blunt out the sound

  2. instead of tin, there is a fibre product that looks like metal, wears longer than metal, and is better for sound control and insulation against heat and cold.  You can get more info from any home building store or barn contractor.

If you are going to use tin, insulate it.  Styrofoam is inexpensive and sound deadening.

  3. well it sure will amplify the rain, but for it getting colder, it wont happen. it will be just as cold outside as inside, but im pretty sure if you insulated the roof it would stop the noise, i dont know how much that is, but if you made it like a house roof it would probably keep warmth in and noise out. i know my friend/neighbor has a tin roof barn and a tin roof house, and thier house is really quite but thier barn makes a sprinkle seem like a down poor. ok well i hope i helped

  4. Tin rooves are very loud in the rain, and cold.  I do not know anything about costs, but you might make it quieter or warmer by placing roofing felt over, but it is not easy to tell, you would have to consult a building expert.
