Connecticut Sun vs. Washington Mystics
Tina Charles
On Sunday night at Verizon Center, Tina Charles recorded her 21 double-double of the season in Connecticut Sun’s 79-48 victory over Washington Mystics. The 22-year-old centre scored 24 points and grabbed a game best 15 rebounds
in the victory. She is now just one double-double shy of the WNBA record, she herself set last year.
Charles, who is averaging 17.7 points and 11 rebounds per game in this season, also blocked two shots and shot 10 for 14 from the field. Mystics coach Trudi Lacey acknowledged the terrific performance of Charles and stated, “Tina
Charles is certainly a forced to be reckoned with.” “She is a legitimate candidate for MVP. I would definitely say that.”
Asjha Jones
Asjha Jones also recorded a double-double in Connecticut’s second consecutive victory. The 31-year-old punctuated 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her team. Jones went 6 for 15 from the floor and 4 for 4 from free throw line.
Danielle McCray
Connecticut’s guard forward Danielle McCray scored 15 points, including 13 of them in the second half. McCray was 5 for 9 from the field, hitting 3 of 5 three-pointers in more than 27 minutes.
Monique Currie
Monique Currie came off the bench with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals in the Mystics’ second straight loss. The player went 5 for 10 from the field and pinned 3 of 3 free throws in the defeat.
Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky

At Allstate Arena, Tamika Catchings tallied 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists in Indiana Fever’s 88-80 win over Chicago Sky. The seven-time WNBA All-Star ended the game on 5 for 10 shooting from the floor
and 6 for 7 from free throw line.
Katie Douglas
Katie Douglas also chipped in 17 points to snap three-game losing streak for Fever.  The 32-year-old guard forward pulled down six boards and dealt out three assists in more than 32 minutes. Douglas was 6 for 14
from the field.
Erin Phillips
Erin Phillips totalled 16 points and two steals in Indiana win. Phillips hit 5 for 8 from the field, including 2 for 3 from downtown, and a perfect 4 for 4 from the line.
Epiphanny Prince
Epiphanny Prince came off the bench with a game-high 21 points in Chicago’s second consecutive defeat. The 5 ft 9 in guard also dished out six assists, grabbed three rebounds and stole the ball twice.
Prince, the WNBA All-Star for 2011, shot 7 for 15 from the field, pinning 2 for 5 three-pointers, and 5 for 6 from free throw line.
