June 25 vs. Indiana Fever
Tina Charles did all she could in Connecticut Suns’ 75-70 defeat to Indiana Fever on June 25 at Conseco Fieldhouse. The 22-year-old recorded her fourth consecutive double-double of the regular season with a team-high 11 rebounds
and 12 points in Connecticut’s second straight loss. She shot 5 for 10 from the field.
June 28 vs. Los Angeles Sparks
On June 28, the rookie centre was just magnificent in Connecticut’s 79-76 victory over the short-handed Los Angeles Sparks at Mohegan Sun Arena, snapping their two-game losing streak. Charles posted her fifth straight double-double
with franchise-best 23 rebounds, one short of the WNBA record set by Chamique Holdsclaw, and 22 points.
The Christ the King High School’s played for more than 35 minutes and ended on an 11 for 21 shooting from the field.
"This is what I wanted from myself," Charles said of her terrific performance.” “My goal is to try and do this every night."
July 1 vs. Seattle Storm
Charles chipped in a team-high 20 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to help the Sun to a 75-70 home victory over the WNBA defending Champion Seattle Storm on July 1. It was Charles’ sixth double-double in a row. Charles
hit 9 for 17 (52.9 percent) from the field.
July 13 vs. Indiana Fever
On July 13 at Conseco Fieldhouse, Chares punctuated 15 points, including 11 of them in the second half of the game, and grabbed 11 rebounds in Connecticut’s 90-78 defeat to Indianan. The 6 ft 4 in centre player pinned 7 of 7 free
throws in more than 36 minutes.
July 17 vs. Indiana Fever
Tina Charles added a team-high 14 rebounds and 18 points as Connecticut downed Indiana 76-71 on July 17 at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Charles, who was drafted first overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft, also blocked two crucial shots of the opponent team and ended on an 8 for 14 shooting from the floor.
July 26 vs. Chicago Sky
Former UConn national player of the year pounded her ninth double-double of the regular season in Connecticut’s 77-66 win over the Chicago Sky on July 26 at Allstate Arena. Chicago had no answers for Charles’ outstanding performance.
Charles racked up scoring 21 points on 10 for 17 shooting and grabbed 15 rebounds in the victory.
The player also had three blocked shots to help Connecticut secure a 13-point lead in the last quarter. In addition to her brilliant 21-point spurt, Charles played solid defense on Chicago’s leading scorer Sylvia Fowles, limiting
her to just 5 for 11 shooting from the field.
