Tina Charles stars as Connecticut Sun chalk out an 82-77 win over a spirited Chicago Sky outfit....

Tina Charles had a stellar night, as she scored a game high 24 points and led the top seeded Connecticut Sun to an 82-77 victory over the Chicago Sky.
Charles went 11 of 15 from the field and added 6 rebounds with her 24 points as the Sun pulled away in the second half to take the victory here on Sunday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Swin Cash scored a team high 21 points for Chicago, leading three Sky players in double figures, but was unable to stop Connecticut from running away with the victory.
Chicago opened the game with an amazing run, leading 27-15 at the end of the first period as Connecticut tried to rub the dust away and get some momentum going. A 7-0 run by Connecticut to close the first half helped them cut the
Chicago lead to 44-37, after Chicago dominated much of the 2nd quarter and lead throughout.
A three pointer by Renee Montgomery with 1:54 left in the third period gave Connecticut their first lead since early in the first quarter, after they stepped up their game in the third period and outscored Chicago 18-14. Sky regained
the lead with a layup by Eshaya Murphy and led 58-55 at the close of the third period.
Connecticut stepped up their offence in the final quarter, dominating the period and outscoring Chicago 27-19 to run away with an 82-77 victory in the end.
Tan White finished with 11 points for Connecticut, where as Montgomery also had 12 points for the night. Epiphanny Prince had 14 points and 5 assists for Chicago, where as Courtney Vandersloot had an amazing night where she scored
15 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.
Both teams shot similarly from the field but Connecticut were much better from the three point range, going 7 of 20 for the game where as Chicago were 6 of 22 from the same distance. Connecticut also had 10 more free throw attempt
than Chicago at 25, and nailed 21 of those for a great night from the foul line. Chicago had a 35-26 advantage in rebounds, but Connecticut were up 22-17 in assists and 10-6 in steals for the night.
