Tine Baun tames Nichaon Jindapon in Women’s Singles first round at Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2012
Denmark’s experienced player Tine Baun showed a staggering performance in Women’s Singles first round when she gave a severe treatment to Thailand’s Nichaon Jindapon at the Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2012 on Wednesday, November 21, in Hong Kong.
The World Number Seven Baun, who is the sixth seeded player in Women’s Singles main draw in the tournament, showed a strong character in the arena and managed to overpower her Thai rival in a dominating fashion in just 26 minutes.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Jindapon could not find a good rhythm and remained struggling all the way in the match. She failed to live up to expectations and crashed out without proving her mettle in the arena.
The lofty Baun played with phenomenal speed and impressive control in her shots and she easily managed a staggering lead at the initial stage in opening rallies of first set.
Danish shuttler continued putting up superb show of her top class skills on court and ultimately remained successful in getting a strong lead by reaching at 11-3 until the one-minute interval.
After the break, the higher ranked Baun did not show any confusion as she was in complete command of rallies against her lower ranked Thai challenger and managed to finish off the opening game with a stunning margin of 21-10
In the second game, the lofty Baun could not do well in starting rallies as she committed a few unforced errors letting her rival to take an early lead for a while.
However, Baun changed her tactics and took over the control of rallies while remaining positive and aggressive in the arena. She managed to set up a reasonable lead of 11-9 until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the Danish shuttler impressed the crowd by putting up a stunning show of attacking badminton and remained successful in winning the second game with a superb margin of 21-15.
The in-form Baun did not face any considerable problem in her first match at Hong Kong Open as she easily finished up the contest in straight games with a staggering 21-10 and 21-15 score on the board.
