Question:

Tingling/numbness in my back?

I don't have insurance, so I really only go to the doctor when I think something could be serious. For a week now, whenever I sit on a hard chair, I soon get a tingling and numb feeling in the right side of my back. This just started last week, it came out of nowhere. I need to keep moving to a softer chair to get rid of it. Any idea what it could be, could it be serious?

Thanks

  1. Yes, this could be something serious like an entrapped or pinched nerve (an example only) or issues with the disks in your back (another example only).

The only way to find out for sure is to see a doctor for further evaluation of the situation.  Because of the issue of not having insurance check with the city health dept to see if they offer a free health clinic that can evaluate this for you.  If not, check with a Medical school if one is close by.
