Question:

Tingling tongue a month after extraction?

Its been a month since I had 7 extractions on my lower jaw.

2 of them were wisdom and 2 molars.

The tip of the tongue is still tingling.

The Dr said it might tingle for 6 month?

Sound weird but I'm not a dentist.

Please help.

  1. That is a possibility after wisdom teeth extraction. The nerve in that area has been irritated or damaged. Damage to the nerve can cause a loss of feeling. I had some numbness in the right half of my lower jaw for a couple months after I had my wisdom teeth out.

  2. This happened to my friend.  The cause is related to the doctor nicking a nerve when giving you the numbing shot. We read that is usually goes away quicking, and it did for him.  Other time is does take quite a while for the body to repair the damage to the nerve.  Just hang on though, the tingling should eventually go away.
